Protein Tastees™ Gourmet Snacks contain 32% to 38% protein by weight, more than all meats and vegetables. They also have an average of 23-47% fewer calories and 73-75% less fat than junk food snacks and have no preservatives. They beat the leading junk food gourmet snacks 70% to 30% in taste tests. Protein Tastees™ Gourmet Snacks promote lean body gain and body fat loss and have no protein aftertaste unlike other high protein snacks.

Protein is the most important nutrient. Major clinical studies have found that most children and adults are protein deficient. This is a serious problem because protein is what your lean body mass is made of which includes your muscles, heart, brain, organs, and glands. Your skin, hair and fingernails are made of protein. Gland excretions such as hormones are also made of protein. When you don't get enough protein, your body cannot build, maintain or repair all of these critical body parts, and they deteriorate. This leads to major health problems. Many of these disorders can also lead to pain.

A study by Dr. Peter Lemon at Kent State University refutes the low RDA set for protein and concludes that individuals who are stressed or active need much more protein than the RDA and protein intake should be increased. Children who are protein deficient will not build enough muscle and other lean body mass. Muscle loss in adults leads to loss of strength and loss of demand on the bones, which in turn leads to bone loss. Muscle is also the main part of your body that burns calories. A pound of muscle burns 30 calories a day, while a pound of fat burns less than 2 calories a day. Calories you burn per day decline and you put on excess fat. Protein also burns many more calories in digestion than fats or carbohydrates.

Excess fat is more than just unsightly. It's now proven in clinical studies to release bad hormones into the body, which can cause a host of maladies including cancer and heart attacks. When your brain and heart are not maintained with adequate protein, they also deteriorate and malfunction, as do other organs in your body such as your liver, kidneys, and pancreas. Glands are also made of protein and therefore, they malfunction as well. It can also result in hair loss and insulin resistance.

Americans are protein deficient because the American diet has developed into one that contains food that has little or no protein. The amount of protein the average person needs per day is 2 ounces if they are inactive, and 8 to 12 ounces if are highly active. Meats have the most protein, but meats are not all protein. The highest protein content by weight of meats are lean beef and lean poultry. They contain about 30% protein. The rest is water and other substances. Therefore, if you eat an 8 ounce lean steak, you're only getting 2.4 ounces of protein. Even eggs only contain 12% protein. Most popular cereals, even Wheaties®, only contain 10% protein at all. Most vegetables contain 3% protein or less. And snacks such as potato chips, French fries, cookies, snacks, cakes and pastries only contain 2% to 10% protein.

Another major reason Americans are deficient in protein is because protein cannot be stored for later use like the body stores sugars and fats. Protein passes out of the body a few hours after you eat it. When the body needs protein for maintenance and repair, or for building lean body mass, the protein must be there on demand at the time the body needs it. Therefore eating 30 ounces of lean steak, which would give you 10 ounces of protein, won't do the job. That's because most of that 10 ounces won't be used because it will be out of the body in a few hours. You need a protein source that is going to provide you with a constant supply of protein throughout the day.

Also, all proteins are not created equal. Certain proteins are better than others. The best source of protein is Soy Protein Isolate (SPI) and Whey Protein, which is the protein contained in milk. The whey part of the milk has none of the milk sugar and fats. SPI and whey protein have the most amino acid chains of any other types of protein. Protein Tastees™ Gourmet Snacks contain SPI and whey protein.

Protein is the most important nutrient. Protein Tastees™ Gourmet Snacks provide up to 38% protein by weight which is much more than all meats and vegetables. A lean steak is only 30% protein. Compared to the leading gourmet cracker, Protein Tastees™ Gourmet Snacks have 450-660% more protein, 28-47% less calories and 73-75% less fat, and won taste tests 70% to 30%.
